Arthur the Angel from the Guardian Angel Brigade is an old companion. The character from an American-Hungarian cartoon series was particularly popular in the former GDR. The lovable angel is constantly sent to earth, to help. His clumsy nature usually leads to confusion, which always ends well in the end.
Wobbly men are restless spirits
Christian Ulbricht has taken on this guardian angel, as he was a television icon of the GDR, which many people loved. But even those who don't know him, are enthusiastic about his likeable charisma. And who can't use a guardian angel? The Erzgebirge folk art company Christian Ulbricht produces Arthur in its series of wobble figures. Wobble figures are small wooden figures, that wobble back and forth when touched - as the name suggests. This happens, due to the uneven base, on which the little men are attached.
An old original from the former GDR
The angel naturally has a halo, which floats above the head with a crown of hair. The face looks friendly and is painted by hand. Arthur is wearing the typical clothes of the original such as the black cloak and a bow tie with his shirt. He is holding his bowler hat in his right hand and an umbrella on his left, with which he always flies down from the sky.
